About Livia

Born in Prešov to a family of lawyers, Livia decided to become an actress. She started studying ballet when she was four. She premiered in front of the audience at the Jonáš Záborský Theater in Prešov.

At age 14, she moved to Bratislava to study acting, which she graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts.

Already during her studies, she performed at the Radošina Naive Theater. In 2006 she began to perform at the Slovak National Theater, where she played for 10 years until she decided to become a freelancer.

She also participated in the Queen Beauty Of Universe Slovakia beauty contest as a juror.

In November last year, she became one of the main jurors of the V4 International Central European Film Festival in Prague alongside the world-famous Polish director Agnieszka Holland.

Lívia gives beginning actors private acting lessons, including voice technique, speech technique, and breathing technique.

She starred in many Czech, Slovak, and foreign films and series, as Methanol, Forest of the Dead, Gendarmes from Luhačovice, The One Who Loved You, Rapl, Living Targets, 12 Monkeys, or Perinbaba 2. Livia is currently working on a new upcoming movie General, (the story about M.R.Stefanik) Livia plays the role of Stefanik’s mother, Albertina Stefanikova. Besides that she is working on Ultimatum; an upcoming political thriller miniseries for Slovak Television.

Lívia is currently working with the well-known Czech photographer Jakub Ludvík to create a new calendar (due to the pandemic situation, the launch of the calendar is being postponed, we will inform you about changes as soon as there will be any).

Lívia is fluent in Slovak, Czech, English, French, and Russian.

S Lívií jsem měl možnost jako režisér spolupracovat na dvou zcela žánrově odlišných projektech. V komediálně laděném filmu TEN, KDO TĚ MILOVAL skvělým způsobem ztvárnila postavu ukrajinské femme fatale IRINY, kde se jednalo o opravu složité balancování na hraně, z které bylo velmi jednoduché spadnout do parodie, což se díky Lívii nestalo, protože má přirozený talent pro sebereflexi a pevnou vůli hledat ve vícero, než jen jednom hereckém šuplíčku. Podruhé jsme se s Lívií potkali při natáčení kriminální série RAPL 2, kde se zhostila zcela odlišné, tentokrát zločinem zatížené postavy. Zde se jen potvrdilo to, co jsem dobře tušil, že Livie je herečkou s obrovským rozsahem, herečkou, která dovede v jednu chvíli obcovat s ďáblem a minutu na to stát mezi anděli na kůru.

La première fois que j’ai vu Livia jouer c’était par inadvertance. Elle donnait la réplique à un comédien qui interprétait le père de Milan Stefanik, et même si la caméra filmait principalement le comédien, je ne voyais qu’elle ; son charisme, son jeu si naturel. Il émanait d’elle quelque chose de rare. J’ai demandé à ce qu’elle fasse des essais pour le rôle d’Albertina, la mère de Milan Stefanik, et ce fut comme une évidence ; c’était elle. J’ai ensuite rencontré Livia pour évoquer le personnage, et je fus une nouvelle fois frappé car il se dégageait d’elle encore autre chose. Livia est l’une de ces rares comédiennes qui disparaissent derrière leur personnage. Elle arrive à incarner totalement un personnage jusqu’à changer physiquement pour faire vivre une autre entité. Une fois sur le plateau, c’est un bonheur de la voir intégrer les indications de mise en scène pour les reproduire à la perfection, avec justesse et émotion.
Depuis je l’ai vu jouer dans d’autres films, et j’ai pu constater que sa palette de jeu est très large ; aussi à l’aise dans la comédie que dans le drame. C’est une actrice rare.

Čo mi zostalo najviac v pamäti z prvého stretnutia s Líviou na kástingu bola jej citlivosť, neha ako aj jej priamy pohľad, iskra v oku. Povedala som si sama pre seba, že takto si Albertinu predstavujem. A Lívia svojím hraním presiahla všetky moje očakávania, či už ako dôstojná matka po smrti svojho dieťaťa, alebo ako matka, ktorá sa snaží zostať silná, keď jej milovaný syn odchádza ďaleko do školy, či ako matka, ktorá sa s ním neskôr navždy lúči. V jej hraní je niečo, čo nás chytí za srdce, čo nás unesie do jej sveta a dovolí nám cítiť to, čo cíti ona. A my ju s radosťou nasledujeme.
